(Dogs sweat through their paw pads and neoprene is a non breathable material) We do not recommend these shoes for any dog under 20 pounds.  They will be too bulky and not stay on properly.  How to Measure Measuring your dog's paw is a simple 2 step process STEP 1: Using a ruler measure the length of your dog's paw from the back of the base pad to the end of the nails. Excellent! January 20, 2012 Reviewer: Theodore A Johns from WATERFORD, CT   I have a German Shepard suffering from a degenerative neurological disease that degrades his rear leg muscle and tissue. Because of this his hind legs drag and his feet bleed. I have purchased several dog shoes at exhorbitant costs and they wear out literally within hours. These are by far the BEST shoes I have found for my dog. He has worn them for the past 3 days with no wear at all. Old dog, New shoes! May 5, 2011 Reviewer: noreen from ventura, CA United States   My 16 year old Lab drags her rear paws to the point of bleeding nails. Old age and arthritis has taken their toll on her. These boots protect her paws and help with traction on hard floors. I wish I found them sooner ! New shoes and medicine shes doing well!
